Yes. My hairdresser. She is pregnant and leaving very soon. She has been my hairdresser for the last two years, and is the only hairdresser I can remember having who has cut my hair perfectly, and the way I like it. I don't want to go anywhere else. I've never really been a person who has bothered about who my hairdresser is, but since finding her.....well, she is a gem! She even knows the right balance of being chatty and leaving you to read your mag in peace. How do you find the perfect hairdresser again?
I'm going to make sure I book in for a cut before she is off, and then maybe as we chat I will find out her plans. Maybe I can convince her to cut my hair while she is on leave? Do hairdressers sneakily do that, or even want to? Maybe I will just have to grow my hair until she is back? Will she ever come back?
What have you done when your hairdresser has walked out on you?

I left my hairdresser of 10 years (TEN YEARS) when we moved 1.5 hrs away. Before we moved I friended her on Facebook so now I can Facestalk her & find out what she is up to LOL! I know if I get desperate I can make the trip down to Sydney to have an appointment with her. I was pretty determined to find a good hairdresser more local to me but still, after nearly 1.5 years still no luck :-(
ReplyDeleteNnooooooo!!
ReplyDeleteThis my worst nightmare.
Truly.
My beautiful hairdresser has promised to do my hair (and a select few loyals!) when pregnant and parenting. Hmmmm. I made lots of promises pre-children too.
:-)
Do you know, I used to dread what would happen if my hairdresser left to have a baby... and then we got pregnant at exactly the same time and were due within a week of each other when I had Sophie. I snuck in an appointment before she left but had to get the other girl to do my hair last time and it wasn't quite the same. Thankfully, my girl is back a few days a week now so I have an appointment for next week - can't wait!! I know what you mean about needing a balance between chit chat and time to flick through mags quietly :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you. Remind me to tell you who I used to use before we moved :)
ReplyDeleteAh, I am that hairdresser! I left when I had my first son, but came back 2 half days a week when he was 3 months old, have worked part time in the salon ever since {apart from the 3 months when I had my little girl} Hopefully your hairdresser will do something similar? Just ask her what her plans are and go from there, I personally don't really like doing peoples hair at home, but alot do. Good luck! I know how hard it can be to find a good hairdresser!!

I hate that feeling!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently between hairdressers. Have started dying my own hair to save money and only getting cuts maybe 3 times a year. I'm yet to find my new love though....
Good luck!

Oh no! I know the feeling. I had finally found a hairdresser that 'got' my curly hair & actually listened to what I wanted & then she retired due to health issues(from all the hair colouring fumes!) After a few years of very bad haircuts I finally found a great hairdresser & he was right under my nose! He is a friend that I went to school with! It was so weird having him cut my hair at first but we are both used to it now & I don't think I'll go anywhere else!
