as fresh as a daisy

The Rose has but a Summer reign, The daisy never dies. James Montgomery
This is how I want to start this new week, as fresh as a daisy, steadfast, and not giving up even when I fall down.
I had an exhausting week and weekend. As soon as Josh was better, Zoe took over the reigns and was struck with a bad cold/flu. I held her nearly all Saturday she was so lethargic. She'd wake for a few bites to eat and drink and then would rest on me and eventually fall asleep. She is loads better now thankfully and Josh has a touch of a cold too. I was so thankful hubby was around all weekend but I'm still exhausted.
On top of all that, my dieting is going pretty badly. I'm so bad that I get food delivered and I still can't stick to it.
Anyway, I want to put all that behind me now (including a few bad parenting moments due to sleep deprivation) and start this week fresh (albeit a little late thanks to the long weekend in Australia). I want to start and stay positive and do my best to be the best for my little family.
I just realised, too, that May is coming up, and that means it will be my one year blogging birthday! I think that might call for a giveaway of sorts. I'll put my thinking cap on for that one.
How are you going into this week? Got any inspirational thoughts to share?

I was supposed to post this a long time ago, but I've only just had the chance to take a photo. Here are my ebay chairs, painted and finally around my dining table!
So what do you think? I quite like the white with wood. I had been looking for dining chairs for so long and was so sick of a naked dining table that when I saw these chairs I just knew they would go well with my existing chairs and could look great albeit a little quirky with my table. And they were such a bargain that even if it didn't work out I had forked out too much cash for them.....
someone's feeling a little better
Ok, so my little revolutionary is feeling loads better. Today was his first day back at preschool after holidays. He wasn't too happy when I left him poor little thing. Such a HUGE mama's boy. I'm sure he's having fun now though (in between a few more tears!). Will make sure I'm there a little early today to pick him up and then he'll be back tomorrow.
Today I'm tired.....again. I've been getting to bed past midnight for too many nights. My own fault. I really need to be disciplined with my bedtimes. My problem is I enjoy the nights so much as it's finally time to myself mostly and there is so much I want to do in that time.....
sick sick sick
Wednesday, April 14, 2010
Just when I feel like I had a little blog mojo come back, now I'm nursing a sick little munchkin....boo. I was up until 2am last night, stripping down a little boy, showering him, stripping down his bed, re-making it, and then finally crawling into his bed with him (majorly uncomfortable) to keep an eye out on him for the rest of the early morning......poor thing has a touch of gastro.
Anyway, adieu for now and for a day or two!! I'll be back with perhaps some news to share. xo

love is

What do you think of this quote?
I think this is so very true. I loved my hubby loads, that's why I married him. But I definitely know that our love has continued to grow, and I hope it always will. I know through rougher times we come out the other side stronger than we were before. And when all is said and done, I know we are in this together FOREVER. No doubts. That's the best feeling ever.

wonderful weekend
Sunday, April 11, 2010
So far I'm loving my weekend and I just don't want it to end right now. I've spent a day at home relaxing with friends, a night catching up on taped tv, a few moments doing a little business planning, a morning shopping with my little girl, some quiet afternoon time while the kids sleep and hubby works in the garden.....and now? Not sure.....I just want to soak up what's left of this weekend with the people I love the best.

hellooooooooooo
Friday, April 9, 2010
Yes, I'm still here. I've just been super busy!
Today I'm feeling really motivated to get organised in my household. I'm one of those people that LOVE being and feeling organised and tidy but it never lasts too long since life {read 'kids'} get in the way! {Ok, well maybe it's my fault a little too....}
I really want one of those households that seem to run well because a little bit gets done everyday, rather than leaving things and waiting for two laundry hampers to fill up before doing the washing. Know what I mean? It's a nice theory! I just have to make it happen.
I'm feeling a little bit motivated as my Sunny Mummy magnet charts arrived today and I can't wait to get them out and start using them. If I can organise things a little better from week to week then maybe my days will flow better and I'll get less frustrated along the way.
While I've been a little MIA I've been working on some plans for a little 'on the side' business idea......not much to report just yet. I've got to wait for hubby to put together a website/logo for me now and then hopefully I will have lots to share with you. Until then, don't let the suspense kill you!
{PS. My bookshelves don't look like those ones. I've seen some super organised people do this and it looks great, but I'm yet to give it a go. We certainly have enough books here for it to work but I just don't have the time for this little exercise yet!}
a little luxury for little ladies
Saturday, April 3, 2010
For a little luxury for your little lady, how about the MiniStyle Chandelier ($189.95) or the little Louis chair from French Boutique ($399.00)?
Or for a whole lot less, you can grab the t-shirt! A Billy Mac t-shirt, that is. A lover of all things beautiful, witty or inspiring, Billy Mac's core is in art, design and popular culture and is aimed at the coolest kids in town ... or the adults who can still remember being that cool or dream of being that cool.
I'd love a Louis shirt myself, or my other fave, the mon cherie eiffel tower shirt.
